FARMERS MARKETS IN AUGUST

August is a busy season for farmers. For me I am knee deep in county fairs, farmers markets, and selling my produce. That means that most vendors at your farmers markets are in the same season and you should be able to find most of these items regardless of zones. There are certainly exceptions to the rule but August is one of the best months to visit your farmers market because there is such a large selection of local farm produce.

BENEFITS TO BUYING LOCAL

I love getting to know the vendors of the farmers market near me. Plus, when you buy from a farmers market you really get to know where your food is coming from because you do get to know the farmers who grow, make, or raise it. You’re also helping support your local community by buying from them, you’re helping them provide for their families. You’re also able to plan out healthy meals for your family, and I don’t know about you but school is about to go back which means planning ahead is key to caring for my family.
