5 Solid Goals for June
May was an exciting month! I hit 30 subscribers with my YouTube Channel plus the Facebook page is only four Likes away from 700!! One of the best parts of May was reading a personal development book by Jim Rohn called 7 Strategies for Wealth & Happiness. A huge part of the book was learning how to write goals and to HAVE A REASON for each goal that you set.
I will be applying the principles of goal setting to my life in June and I'm starting now. I will be following many principles in this book to apply it to my life because I want my life to be full of wealth and happiness. Of course, my life is definitely full of both those things already. But sometimes my mind wanders away from focus and spirituality.
With that said, here are my 5 solid goals for June.
1. Jim Rohn says you can't achieve anything without a list of goals and a plan to meet them. I see this with my blog. As I look back on my editoral calendar in previous months, I noticed I was only posting 1 or 2 times per week. There was no planning going on in my editorial planner!
I have taken the initiative to do some post planning for the entire month of June. This includes blog posts and vlog videos. I made a calendar for the month of June and filled it up with posts for each day. WOW - What a feeling to have a full calendar! So much motivation for blogging every single day!
My reason for this goal is to not only build my content database, but to use those posts as a way to get my own name out into the world as a platform owner to find opportunities. Those opportunities will be pivotal to helping my reach pro-blogger status.
2. My second personal goal for June is to run. Every. Single. Day. I will be running every day in June. Today was the first day I hit the pavement and ran the hills. I ran a little over 2 miles with a 10 minute mile pace. It felt great!

My main reason for this goal is to be sure to get cardio in along with lifting. I'm just not making time for cardio during the week and it's so important to staying toned. My physique is not as toned as I'd like it to be and I think the combination of cardio and strength is ideal for having the perfect and fit body. Along with a healthy diet, of course!
3. Read at least one personal development book. As I mentioned before, in May I read 7 Strategies for Wealth and Happiness by Jim Rohn. Next on the list will be "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill and "The Richest Man in Babylon" by George Clayson. Both of those books were recommended by Jim Rohn.
The reason for so much personal development? A positive mindset and clear focus to following the path of achieving my long-term goals! Why not read something inspirational every day? When you aren't getting what you want, why not change something? That is why. I want to be the best "ME" I can be and I want to share that success with others who want it, too.
4. The next goal refers to the future of my platform Farm Fit Mama. As you know, I have my blog and my YouTube Channel moving right along and going strong. I have huge long term plans for my platform. The biggest one is of course to educate people on the basics of rural living, leadership, and wellness and to eventually make a steady income while doing so.
I invested my time and money into joining Amy Porterfield's Profit Lab. It's a course on social media marketing for platforms and business owners. When I listened to her webinar about marketing with Facebook, she made me truly believe that if I didn't, I would lose out on a huge opportunity to grow my platform. With only four modules, I'm going to get a huge amount of information and hear from the best of the best!
I paid for Profit Lab because I believe it will help me to make sound marketing decisions on advertising my products and my platform to grow my followers, readers, and viewers. Time will tell if it will and I can't wait to share those results with you are.
5. My final goal for June is to manage my time. My reason for this goal is that June is packed full! Along with a busy work schedule, I have a family and friends I need to make time for without going completely bonkers! Since I'm an introvert, I also need to make sure I make time for myself. Plus, I have zoo-themed second birthday party to plan!
My plan for managing my time just to make lists that fill my day but to never overbook. I will do what Jim Rohn suggests and plan my days the night before, my weeks on Sunday nights, and my months on the last night of the current month.

Great goals! I need to make #5 a goal of mine for June too! It's easy to get overwhelmed with so many things going on!!
Thanks, Cindy! I know - things just keep getting added to my days this month! But, it's important to keep the priorities at the top, such as two year old zoo-themed birthdays!! π That's where my lists and planners come in handy for me. If you have any good tips, let me know!
These are some solid goals! The only way to really work on goals is to have a definite way of measuring them; so I like that you were specific, like running every day! Good luck! You can do it!
Thanks, Chelsie! I really got a LOT out of Jim Rohn's book - you should definitely read it! I learned how to write specific and measurable goals, which I will share more about. I think it's not only important to set goals, but to have a plan in achieving them and a REASON for that particular goal. So good!
Running is on my list of goals this month too!! Awesome goals
Great, Jessica! Yesterday, I kind of improvised and rode my bike to a meeting instead. 1 mile and 50 calories. I just did not have the time at all to make running work, but I did get some activity in. I taught BODYPUMP early that morning and then I hoed and weed eated around my sweet corn patch. π Boy, was I exhausted by the end of the day! I will be back at it today (though, it's raining...I will just have to run in the rain.)
Hey, good for you! I'm such a list maker, I love writing out the things I want/hope to accomplish. Funny, your goals (except for #4) are exactly things I'd like to set for myself, too! I actually just designated a planner for organizing my blog the other day, and started jotting down post ideas for this month. Running is something I used to do ALL OF THE TIME before I had my kids (over 3 years ago). I just had my 2nd girl, 7 weeks ago. The doc just gave me the green light today, to get back to any physical activity I'd like but I just don't have the time right now with being Mama! Well, I should say...I haven't made the time. Which brings me to your #5...time management! I think if I plan my time better, I could probably set aside time for a few walks/jogs on my treadmill. And last, your book goal. I just received a book in the mail yesterday called "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up - the Japanese art of decluttering and organizing"...which was highly recommended to me by a friend. That's a personal development type book, right? So basically what I'm saying is...I could have written this post!!! Haha. Good luck accomplishing all you've set out for this month. I'm inspired to do the same π -Misty
Momista, I'm glad you posted! I definitely feel the same way about feeling you could write this post! I feel that way a lot of times, but we all have our unique way of doing things. I need to read the Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up...If you watch my YouTube 10 Things About Me Video, you'll find out that I am NOT a Susie Homemaker and I completely despise cleaning!! That is something I definitely need to work on. π
I'm really going to try and run everyday this month as well, I think that's a great goal! π

Fabulous, Savannah! Good luck to you! If you have the Map My Run app, you can add me as a friend. π Mindy Young
Great goals! I also believe that writing down your goals and writing them effectively is so important! I love the idea of reading a personal development book! I would like to add that to my list as well. Good luck, you are going to do great this month!
Thank you for the comment, Chantal! My month of May went so great and I truly think that having some good personal development and inspiration helped keep my mind on the right track. I would definitely encourage you to read Jim Rohn's book. I got a call yesterday from the library saying my new book is in, so I will soon announce what I'm reading this month!
Those are great goals! You seem to have great focus and I suspect you will be very successful.

Traci
Thank you, Traci! I used to not be so focus and then I found friends who were. It changed me completely! That's my advice to you and everyone else! Never stop learning and reading inspiration to make yourself better. Surround yourself with positive peeps you can relate to and who will support YOU! AMAZING feeling! π
Great advice, indeed!
Great post of goal setting! I have experienced how powerful goal setting is and use it as much as possible. Thank you for your inspiration!
Absolutely, Christina. People who set goals achieve great things. Think of how great the world would be if everyone set goals. But, if it were easy to do then everyone would do them. It is a valuable skill to have to succeed in life.
Such great goals! Time management...this should always be on my list of goals, it can be such a struggle!
I hear ya, Sandra! I am so stressed for time right now - Summertime is so busy with camps, meetings, and get togethers. It's so important to just take one day at a time. I'm starting to plan out my day the night before so I can sleep easy and not be so stressed.
