Ways to Live Your Life More Positively

Have you ever just wanted to live your life in a way you have more positive days than negative?

Live everyday better than the one before. It can be done but it's difficult to accomplish.ย

You see, it's all in your mindset. You have to decide that you want to live your life in a positive way. Your mind sets the direction of your thoughts.

Any negative thoughts you may have can backfire your entire day.

So, have a great positive mindset.ย

You have to tell your mind to be positive. Sometimes it fights you. It's often easier for your mind to be negative than positive. We all have those downer days where nothing goes our way. It feels like all arrows are pointed at us those days.ย

I get it. I've felt this way, too. Here's how we can get over it.

[Tweet "Try this: Take a time out to think."]

Just you and your mind somewhere quiet. You can even try shutting your eyes to be in complete focus with your mind.

No distractions allowed with this activity. ย Tell your mind how you want to act and what positive goals you want to achieve.

Setting your goals

Goals are important and daily goals will set the stage for getting things accomplished.

How awesome would it be if we could achieve everything we want to in one day's time?

The reality is this: Only you can accomplish what you want to. It just takesย planning and goal setting day by day.

I love to set my goals for each day by writing them down the day before or that morning. I usually write down about 5-10 goals I want to accomplish for the day.

The key is to priorities and only set goals you know you can achieve in a timely manner. Keep them reachable. The ones that must be accomplished should be tackled first.

Bigger and lengthy goals may be more appropriate to be weekly or even monthly goals.

Larger goals may seem like a million stars away. But, along the way to reaching them, the milestones are little rewards to keep you on the right path.

Achieving little milestones

Sometimes, it takes time for your larger goals to be met. That's ok.

Rome was not built in a day. You can't lose 40 pounds overnight. It takes time and a positive mind.

But, losing a pound a day for a week is a a good goal. That's 7 pounds in a whole week, which is a milestone. You're on the right path to achieving the goals you set for yourself.

How does it make you feel when you reach a milestone?

The main thing to remember here is to not ever quit. Larger goals can be intimidating and seem like a long road.

Also, there can be some negativity attacking your road. This is where your mindset must be golden. You must believe in your goals and your path.

To reach the top of the mountain, you must stay on the path. Achieve those little stepping stones of success and stay positive while doing so.

Do things you want to do

There are always things things in our lives we have to do that we don't want to do.

So, why don't you add one thing you want to do each day.

For me, this is typically my workout. At 5:00 a.m. I can work out and socialize at the gym before I start my day.

It calms me and makes me a happy person. And I never have the excuse that I never get to do anything I want to do.

It may be hard to fit one thing in for yourself, but you have to. It may not be something each day, but a few times per week is key.

Time for yourself will make you a calmer and happier person. You'll have more energy and accomplish so much more in your positive day.

Accomplish one thing each and every day

To live your life more positively, you have to feel like you're winning.

Remember those daily goals you wrote above? Yes, try to accomplish at LEAST one of those goals each day.

Finishing one important thing can sometimes make you feel like you've accomplished several.

Whatever is left can always wait until tomorrow. With your positive mindset, accomplished goals and energy, you'll be able to recognize all the blessings you have in your life. You'll feel like you're walking on air.

Can you recognize your true blessings in life?

Live: Big Changes

Make a listย ofย all the blessings in your life.ย

My grandmother taught me this. She always told me to make a list of everything in my life I already have. Those are my blessings.

I could always come up with a long list of blessings. It made me feel thankful for everything and everyone I have in my life. This activity helped me to realize that others have more struggles in their life than I do.

This activity helped me to think more positively each day and to enjoy the little things in my own life that makes it special.

Negative days will still come

But, only you and your mindset can turn it all around.

You've learned how to change your mindset from negative to positive. You've learned to make the most of your time and your energy. To accomplish little goals in life can feel like major wins.

You're ready now to practice. Maintaining a positive mindset is not easy in this world, but it is what you make it.

You are the only one who can live your life more positively. One step at a time.

Beautiful post. I agree, we have to take action steps to create our dreams and we need to be mindful of our thinking to live a more positive life.

Thank you, Carol! I see too much negativity in the world these days. It rubs off on anyone and can ruin anyone's day. A ruined day can ruin productivity. A positive mindset is certainly the key to keep going.

Great tips. I love the one about doing what you want to do. This can be challenging as a mom, since so much of what fills our days are things we need to do for our family. Thanks for the inspiration!

I completely understand, since I'm a mommy as well. I find myself getting up extremely early or letting grandma (she begs) take care of my little one so I can do something for me.

I completely agree. I believe whatever you put out into the universe, you receive in return. Changing the way you think is the hardest part. Great post!! ~ D

  5. This is fantastic. I used to be the type of person who prepped for the negative in case things go bad. Once I changed my perspective on life i have found life is much happier and much easier!

Thanks, Kristina. Someone I love very much lives this way and it is so frustrating. But, I've learned to brush it off and to still think, "Yes" in the back of my mind. You have to believe in your dreams and goals in order to get past the negativity.

I love these tips!!!! I'm having a very negative day (my husband took someone's shift at work and didn't tell me so I didn't get to go to crossfit this morning which is my "thing" that I just need to get me going for the day!!!) so it's time to turn it around!

I really like the idea of making a list of things you've accomplished, it helps keep one accountable. These are great ideas! I try to be positive everyday but sometimes I let people ruin my cheery mood. It's a good day to have a good day though!

    1. Mindy Young @ Farm Fit Living says:

Thanks, Leslie. It is a good day when you have a good day. But there's always negativity out there and it's toxic. Keep being your cheery self and love your life!

Thank you, Cassie. I hope some of these can help you and others to stay positive through their day. There's always toxic negativity out there that can pop up at any moment. Don't let it get you down.

  13. Great advice!! I especially like "accomplish one thing every day." That was my strategy right after my son was born and I felt like all I ever did was nurse! I started getting really discouraged and depressed, but then I decided to focus on accomplishing one thing - just one thing - every day. It helped so much!

    1. Mindy Young @ Farm Fit Living says:

Great, Lisa! It feels good to have at least one thing marked off your list for the day. No one can do everything they want in one day, but if you can focus on one thing each day, it can make all the difference.
