Although Spring is so close we can smell it, winter is still here. When it’s cold outside, you want something warm and comforting in your tummy.
My delicious homemade chicken noodles is so easy to make.
Slow cooked to perfection, it is hearty and filling. My mouth waters for delicious homemade chicken noodles every time cold weather hits.
My recipe includes chicken I raised and butchered myself cooked down to the bone paired with my fluffy homemade noodles. I used the thigh meat for this recipe, but you can use any part of the chicken. The chicken breast works well, too.
I cooked my chicken thighs down until the meat was falling off the bone. Then, I removed the bones and Farm Fit Girl added the noodles. We added a large box of the Swanson Chicken Broth, some pepper and other seasonings, and that was it. You can add whatever seasonings you like. The noodles cooked for around one hour before they were soft and cooked through completely.
Ingredients:
12 Chicken Thighs
Homemade Egg Noodles
32 oz box of Swanson Chicken Broth
Black Pepper
Pinch of Salt
Herbs of your choice for seasoning
Slow cook the chicken thighs on low for eight hours or until the meat willingly and easily falls off the bone. This will also be ample time for the chicken juices to be transformed into a creamy natural broth. After you pick the bones out of the broth, you can add the homemade noodles. You may or may not need to add some more broth. If you don’t have enough homemade broth on hand, I would suggest the Swanson brand chicken broth. You just need enough to saturate the noodles. Let the noodles cook on high for another hour or until they are cooked all the way through. Add the seasonings to taste.
We enjoyed our delicious homemade chicken noodles with some garlic toast! I hope you enjoy this recipe.
