How to Make Easy Chicken & Noodles
First of all, prepare your chicken to the liking of who’s going to be eating it. If you have little kids, you’ll want to cut or shred the chicken into small pieces. Next, drain chicken if you haven’t already.
Before I go further, I’m going to invite you to keep reading on. There are three ways you can make this easy chicken and noodles recipe and I want to do a deep dive with each one. Let’s start with using a crock pot.
Make this in a Crock Pot
So, it was a gymnastics night in our house hold and I had been working all day. I didn’t have anything prepared or even anything planned out.
And I refused to submit to fast food.
So, I looked around my pantry and found canned chicken. I realized I had celery and canned carrots and noodles! And chicken broth! Boom!
I put everything into the crock pot including the noodles and set the crock pot to the HIGH option. We would be home in two hours and we would be ready to eat.
So, two hours later, we were home again. We walked into a house smelling beautiful of chicken broth and seasonings. I took the lid off and stirred it a little. Perfect. Two hours on high was perfect for this.
This is now my go-to for when it’s super cold. While I still love the super slow soups, this fast option is the way to go when you need something quicker. Another option is to use an Instapot if you have one.
Use an Instapot or Pressure Cooker
So, I found a recipe similar to this one that uses an instapot. It’s over on Simply Happy Foodie. Everyone I talk to has an instapot and with this recipe, it cuts back an hour of time.
I wanted to include this into this recipe post because I know many of you have one and swear by it. This recipe goes deep into the settings, time and strategy of making this awesome chicken and noodles in the instapot.
And, I also wanted to include this podcast interview I did with Chef Alli – The Queen of pressure cooking. She really is. You’ll learn a lot from her and be able to go over to her web site for more great instapot recipes.
Or Make it On the Stove
My mom has always been a stove top soup cooker. If this is you, you can definitely do this, too.
You’ll need a large stock pot and just add everything in. Set the stove top temperature to high heat. Season as desired.
Be sure to stir your soup regularly to prevent sticking. When it’s boiling, add in the noodles. Cook until noodles are soft. Serve and enjoy!
