7 Ways to Bloom When You Are Wilting

We all have those days when nothing goes our way. We can’t find a way to bloom again.

Bloom like the beautiful flower you are.

We all have those downer days. You know, those days where nothing goes our way.

You feel like you have no control of things in your life.

There are many things we can’t control.

We may not be able to control certain things in our lives that make us wilt. But, we can amend certain things in our lives to make us happier. And when we are happy, we bloom into empowered and motivated leaders.

Bloom

Here are 7 ways to bloom when you are wilting.

  1. Do something you love

Plan a day for yourself. You deserve it.

On this day, you could plan to do something you love. Because, there’s nothing more rewarding than splurging on yourself.

You could also invite a good friend and/0r close family member to spend the day laughing.

Have you ever seen a wilting flower laughing?

2. Associate yourself with people who love you

Our lives are full of difficult people we deal with each and every day. Don’t focus on them.

Try to avoid and mask their negativity.

Instead, focus on the positive people in your life. The people who love you.

Those special people are the ones who will make you feel good about yourself.

3. Change one thing. Just one.

Maybe you’re feeling overwelmed with your life. Have you taken on too much?

Try changing one thing in your life. It doesn’t have to be a permanent change. Analyze the events and priorities in your life.

What one thing can you amend that would help you to see the bright sunny skies of your life?

4. Take a much needed vacation

It’s hard to get away, but a vacation could be necessary to refresh and recharge.

Even a day or weekend trip somewhere fun can make all the difference. There are many places within driving distance that are easy to sneak away to.

Maybe your little vacation can lead you to new ventures and hobbies you never thought you would ever want to even try.

5. Try something new that can keep you busy.

Have you wondered about trying a new hobby or adding a new venture to master?

Now may be the most ideal time. While you are learning about your new hobby, you can learn a lot about yourself as well.

6. Find a way to get involved in an organization

An organization with the same values and beliefs that you have would be the most ideal way to spend your time. How can you be more involved in an industry you are passionate about?

7. Find a way to give back.

Does it make you feel good to serve others and help others? If so, this option would be perfect for you.

There are numerous ways to give back, even when you can’t afford it. You could serve your time or volunteer at an event.

Or, if you can afford it, donate money or services for a great cause.

My friend Val, who blogs at Corn, Beans, Pigs & Kids, has a great service project. She donates a certain amount of her own money per the amount of comments she receives on blog posts. Each month, she picks a new and different organization to donate. It’s a very innovative way to give back to her community.

Check out Comment for a Cause and see exactly what Val is doing to give back.

Bloom

Change or remain the same

It all comes down to change. If you don’t find a way to be happy, you are going to continue to wilt.

Add new, take something away, change one thing. It seems simple.

Try one of the seven ways and watch how quickly you begin to bloom again.

Very good advice. Helping others is a big help for me when I'm down. I also find listening to music helping boost my spirit.

Very practical advice. I'm often wilting because I am. Tired. Usually that's the last thing I think of. I look around, blame other people, rearrange my life and only to realize that I was simply tired. Everything looks better after a break. Great ideas!

It is easy to feel run down after weeks of just running non stop. This is when I usually have a day to myself or have a weekend get away. You're exactly right about having a break! Thanks for reading. :)
